The easiest way to strap your kayaks onto j racks is from the side of your vehicle.
Attach the other end of the line to a secure point on your vehicle.
If you don t have a secure point such as a tow hook you can install a hood loop strap to create one.
Never attach the tie down straps to plastic parts on your car.
Run 2 boat straps over the top of the kayak and them under the roof rack bars then bring the straps to the other side of the kayak and loop them under the roof rack bars on that side.
This will depend on the model of j style rack being used.
Tie on with a bowline tie off with a hitch.
If using a bow stern strap with an anchor loop run the strap through the loop then bring the strap through the buckle and secure.
