Secure the line to the wall secure the hook ring on your chalk line to the wall or floor at your starting point. Brevity is the soul of well i mean brevity is good so i may be doing some more fast paced short sweet ones should you like em. Attach the chalk line at the starting point of the line. Use a helper or another nail to hold the chalk box end of the string.

Holding down a chalk line in the middle to pop the line accurately. To distribute the chalk over your line shake the box several times. Mark the two end points of the line you are trying to draw. Press down on the string about midway between the ends with your thumb or finger and hold it.

You may need a measuring tape to set these points. Using white chalk on a white surface won t give you a readable line. The chalk box string is laid across the surface to be marked then snapped sharply causing the string to strike the surface leaving behind a straight chalk line where the surface has been struck. This technique is good for irregular surfaces and will help prevent unwanted double lines.

Lift and snap the string on one side and then the other using the technique shown. Pull the string loaded with chalk out of the chalk reel. Hammer a nail or drive a screw into one of the end points.
