One of the tabs on the side broke off.
Ice dispenser door flap repair.
The most common reason for replacing the door flap is if it does not open to release ice when the dispenser arm is depressed or does not close after the ice is released.
To determine if the dispenser door solenoid is defective use a multimeter to test it for continuity.
I found a great youtube video that showed me how to remove the front panel of the ice water dispenser to get access to the door flap.
Answer jim to replace the ice door you will need to disconnect the power to the unit and then you will need to remove the screws that are located under the drip tray.
Nothing seems to reliably work to stop it opening closing door pushing ice water dispenser buttons tried everything i can think of.
Once removed lift the dispenser cover off.
Unpluggin fridge waited close to a minute.
If the dispenser solenoid is defective the dispenser door won t open.
Then remove the 3 screws holding the housing in place and you will have.
It probably also made the compressor run much longer.
